Director of Communications at Spéos, an international photography school based in London and Paris, Claire Saint-Jean will be putting her powerful personality and experience behind the FEDE Committee. We talk with her below.
What did you study?
I am a graduate of Sciences-Po Paris and the ESCP, the world’s oldest business school (Master’s in Publishing Management). I did my Erasmus year in Milan, at Luigi Bocconi University – Italy’s leading institution for economics and management.
Would have been the highlights of your career?
I began working in digital communications 15 years ago. I worked for a long time in a communications agency, then changed direction completely and began working in education. I was living in Singapore at the time, and it was there that I began managing the Sorbonne Assas International Law School’s Asian campus. Once back in France I continued working in education: I became Director of Communications at Spéos.
What’s different about Spéos?
Spéos was founded in 1985 and has over 30 years of experience in teaching professional photography. It aims to produce gifted photographers, fully trained for needs of the contemporary job market. Our courses are recognised by photography professionals and certified by the French government (RNCP level one – equivalent to master’s level).
And what is your exact role at Spéos?
As Director of Communications I’m in charge of all our external communications, in particular our website and our social media activity. I also develop new programmes and partnerships and help attract international students.
How do you feel about your new role at the FEDE?
I feel honoured to be taking on this role and I am impatient to begin! I hope to share my experience and knowledge with the FEDE and to use my energy and European vision of education to help our Federation develop.
