Christian Castelli is Chairman, Director-General and Founder of C2 Consulting Group, part of which is specialised in education. He talks to us about his career and explains why he joined the FEDE.
What did you study?
I have a master’s in economics (Aix-en-Provence University, 1983) and a diploma in neurolinguistic programming (1993). I have also completed a course at the HEC: ‘Managing a Company Branch, Profit Centre or SME ’ (HEC Paris, 2005).
What have been the highlights of your career?
At the beginning of my career I was lucky enough to be hired to manage various profit centres for a multinational company (Total). I did that for over 10 years and gained an enormous amount of professional rigour – as you would expect from such a company; it was an excellent learning experience. I then went on to manage the Italian branch of Les Assurances Générales de France, which meant that for over a decade I was CEO in a new cultural universe. In such a role I developed the flexibility needed to function in an international market with different cultural rules and different legislation. When I returned to France I setup my own company, C2 Consulting Group.
What exactly does your company do?
It’s a strategic consulting company. It is also an educational organisation and a FEDE member. C2 Consulting Group designs courses using innovative teaching methods. We also managelarge professional training programmes for adults at a local and national level, working with a network of carefully selected teachers. We have signed agreements with prestigious partners such as EXCELIA (Groupe Sup de Co La Rochelle) – a group that is, of course, well-known to the FEDE. As Founder and Chairman of C2 Consulting Group I am responsible for ensuring the success of my company in the long term.
How did you feel about the recent FEDE General Assembly?
It was my first General Assembly – and quite a first! I met a large number of different people and organisations, every one of them aflame with passion for teaching and culture. I was also struck by the warm and friendly atmosphere. I will definitely be attending more general assemblies in the future; indeed, for me FEDE membership is all about making contacts, discovering new teaching methods, being part of a large European network and so on. In other words, as a FEDE member I have the opportunity to share my passion for education with a large number of different actors.
