The managing director of the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce d’Annecy, Nabil Zahraoui, tells us more about himself and explains why he has chosen to offer the FEDE DBA at his institution.
What did you study?
Following a master’s in economics and a DBA in private law, I completed a PhD in economics at the University of Perpignan (2010).
What have been the highlights of your career?
After working for a while in accounting and commerce, I discovered teaching. From 2012 to 2014 I was deputy director of a management institute (Savoie Décision Annecy) then director of Wes Sup Pays de Gex (2015-2018). Since 2018 I have managed the ESCA (École Supérieure de Commerce d’Annecy).
Can you tell us more about the ESCA?
We have 120 students. We offer courses ranging from French BTS diplomas (marketing, communications and SME Management) to FEDE bachelor’s and master’s degrees. We now plan to enrich our course catalogue by offering FEDE DBAs.
Why exactly have you decided to start offering the DBA?
We want to expand our catalogue in a rational and sensible way! But there’s another advantage: I participate in lots of international conferences; in order to help draw attention to my institution and to the FEDE, I would like my doctoral students to help me take up all the conference invitations I receive. This will allow both my institution and the FEDE to enjoy increased international visibility.
