Patrick Barberet is a regular and active participant at the FEDE’s general assemblies. Meet this e-learning manager from the institution ESOAD – a self-proclaimed fan of educational games.
What did you study?
I have a degree in trade and management from the French Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, though frankly I’m committed to ongoing education. These days I am constantly learning about neuroscience and game-based education. It’s possible I will try to obtain a degree in one of these domains in the future.
What have been the highlights of your career?
After finishing school I spent five years in the marketing department of an American IT company (digital technology). After that I worked as consultant trainer for a training firm (ADK). Finally I founded two institutions – the Institut de Formation, de Communication et d’Administration (IFCA) and the ESM (Ecole Supérieure de Marketing) –, which I managed for 10 years.
What’s your current job role?
I am currently E-Learning Manager at ESOAD – a 100% online institution. Each year we teach degree-and certificate-granting programmes to around 1000 students. Over the past year our institution has also been developing an e-learning department for companies. It is an extremely exciting project since it will help to strengthen links between our institution and the business world.
What was your experience of the FEDE General Assembly in Malaga?
At every general assembly I meet plenty of interesting people have plenty of interesting conversations. It is also an opportunity for me to catch up with my existing contacts. I’ve been really impressed by the FEDE’s dynamic development over the past few years!
