ANTOINE BEON: “WHY DON’T THE FEDE AND HACHETTE HEROES WORK TOGETHER?”
Antoine Beon is one of the authors of the work “L’Homme et le Monde” edited by the FEDE.
What is the nature of, and what are the the key elements present in your roles?
I am the editorial and artistic director working for the Hachette Group; this means that, in practical terms, I organise and am responsible for the artistic direction of all the publications of Hachette Pratique (Health,Well-being, Cookery) as well as from an editorial point of view, overseeing the Heroes collection.
What actually does this second role entail ?
Hachette Heroes is a collection devoted to the pop culture; overall my role consists of identifying, and then promoting, emerging authors, either known, or beginning to become known, who have a real talent with regards to modern music, fashion, design, photos, comics… Currently, we are the licensed editors for publications about the world of Disney, as well as works such as the encyclopaedia of pop and the official book of the Hellfest (a festival of pop culture).
As an editor, you envisage developping a link with the FEDE ?
Yes, we are interested by the fact that the FEDE benefits from being spread out across Europe and brings together a rich and diverse group of experts. By placing at my disposal a group of authors specialising in the pop culture, the door to Hachette Heroes has become wide open. Therefore, it’s with joy that we will be welcoming the authors of the FEDE into our collection. Also, we are very interested by the research work being carried out by your doctoral students in the context of the DBA FEDE (Doctorate of Business Administration). If one of your doctoral students is working on the pop culture and his work seems to be good enough to be published, promise that you will send it to me!
