The FEDE is an active member of the World Committee for Lifelong Learning (CMA), and participates in the meetings that regulate the day-to-day running of the organization. The convening of the Board of Directors, in FEDE’s presence, is such an example.
The CMA brings together education and training professionals, business leaders, researchers, academics, students, professors, tutors, elected officials and educators from all countries and all sectors of civil society, including education, economy, associations and administration.
The World Committee was created in 2004 by a team of French, Chinese, American and Quebec professionals. The founders hailed from all sectors of society.
The original impetus that led to the creation of the World Committee was based on the observation that the idea of lifelong learning had in the 1990s evolved from a recommendation to a necessity given the introduction into society of the notion of know-how, in which knowledge and its dissemination are a key element.
The meeting also presented an opportunity to discuss “The 5th World Forum for Lifelong Learning” that CMA holds in St. Petersburg in conjunction with Pushkin University:
Through its participation in the activities of CMA, the FEDE contributes its expertise, network and know-how to an organization that fully shares the same objectives as the FEDE.
